Kiama Downs triathlete Sarah De Jong is on the short list for selection in the national team for the world championships in Montreal, Canada, this year.

De Jong, 17, finished fourth in the junior elite class at the Australian championships in Mooloolaba, Queensland, last weekend.

The first three placegetters automatically go into the Australian team but there will be five triathletes in the side.

De Jong will compete in the NSW club championships at Nelson Bay this weekend.
